Chiwetel Agu Says He Was Buying Bread For The People And Not Demonstrating VIDEO
An interesting video has surfaced on social media which shows the moment when a veteran Nollywood actor, Mr Chiwetel Agu, explained to men of the Nigerian military that he was purchasing bread for some ” hungry people” in Onitsha, and not inciting or demonstrating as earlier speculated by the media.
In the viral video, the popular actor boldly stated to some army officers that he did not campaign for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) or any other group. Mr Chiwetel Agu revealed that he was only buying a large amount of bread for the people when he was accosted and seized by some military personnel.
The actor said: ” I was buying bread— N10, 000 worth, sharing them one by one. No campaign, nothing! Nobody was doing a demonstration or carrying people along.
” These people were hungry and I was giving them bread. ”

The image of the ‘ rising sun’ can be visibly seen imprinted on Mr Agu’ s attire. The Nollywood legend went on to explain to the military men that his regalia is a ” civil dress” and not one for secession.

However, the claims of Mr Chiwetel Agu strongly contradicts that of the Nigerian military, who had released a statement where it claimed that the Nollywood actor was arrested by the troops ” while he was inciting some members of the public and soliciting their support for Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Onitsha. ”

This statement was issued by Brigadier General O. Nwachukwu, who also stated that Mr Chiwetel Agu was not subjected to any form of physical brutalization as earlier believed and reported.
